New Airbnb rules in Niagara Falls

Airbnb is becoming a global vacation phenomenon. Allowing travellers to rent rooms and full homes at the click of a mouse.
On Tuesday night City Council approved a plan to restrict short term rentals in Niagara Falls. Leaving renters like Wendy Wilke & Janice Campopiano in the lurch.
The two real estate agents intended to flip the home and sell it right away but because of a tough real estate market they say they needed to rent it to break even.
The plan limits vacation rentals to downtown and tourist areas. Council points to noise as part of the reason.
Bed and Breakfast establishments will be allowed in any area where a single detached dwelling is legally permitted. The difference between a vacation rental and a bed and breakfast is with a vacation rental, people rent the entire house and the owner is not present.
Renters will have a grace period that ends in September to allow for summer bookings to be filled.
