OPP commissioner Chris Lewis has confirmed that provincial police will be launching a criminal investigation into the deleted email scandal, regarding the two cancelled gas power plants in Oakville and Mississauga.

That comes as the NDP called for Dalton McGuinty to return to justice committee hearings into cancelled gas plants in Oakville and Mississauga.

The Progressive Conservatives had been urging the OPP to investigate.
