National Puddle Day

Hundreds of kids were getting messy for a good cause. Kids and even some parents took part in the fourth annual National Puddle Day at homestead park in Mount Hope. For the event, kids jumped in puddles to honour children whose lives were cut short. The event was set up after four-year-old Matthew Chatelain was killed in an accident nearly 4 years ago.

“Every year we do this big event,” says Jason Freeman, Matthew’s uncle, “it’s a great way to remember him and how much fun he loved to play in puddles and how happy he was all time.”

Event organizers were also collecting donations and rubber boots for the Bereaved Families of Ontario. This year they hope to collect eight hundred pairs of boots.
