MLB Commissioner removes Rose, Jackson from baseball’s blacklist

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred made a significant decision Tuesday, removing baseball all-timers Pete Rose and “Shoeless” Joe Jackson from the league’s blacklist.

These were two of the sport’s most famous players, who had been kicked out of baseball for gambling on the game.

Despite the controversial ruling, this move would allow both players to be considered for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, an honour that was previously off the table.

Not everyone was pleased with Tuesday’s ruling, the son of former MLB Commissioner, Bart Giamatti, who signed the agreement banning Rose called it a “very dark day for baseball.”

But Baseball Hall of Fame Chairman says any player affected by Manfred’s decision would be considered for induction.
