Mississauga man charged after fraud investigation at Oakville dental office

A 36-year-old man from Mississauga has been arrested and charged after an investigation into fraud at an Oakville dental office.

In April 2025, Halton police began investigating a former employee of a dental office that had been fraudulently redirecting business funds to several bank accounts under his control.

According to authorities, the money was stolen while he worked at the dental office.

Investigators soon discovered that more than $235,000 had been redirected to the man’s bank accounts between May 2023 and January 2025.

As a result of the investigation, on May 1 Ngoc Tuan Nguyen was charged with the following offences:

• Fraud – Over $5,000
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000
• Laundering Proceeds of Crime

Officers believe Nguyen may have been employed at other dental offices and are concerned there may be more victims.
