A local drummer is up for drum performance of the year at the 2025 Drumeo Awards for his performance of a band’s entire discography.

Tyler Visser, a first year engineering student at McMaster University, has been nominated for his almost eight hour performance of drumming the rock band Tool’s entire discography.

Besides drumming, Visser said he also wants to focus on biomedical science to help people like himself who have type 1 diabetes.

Polls are open for voting on the Drumeo website, and can be reached here.

Voters can log in and submit up to five votes per category — to spread or focus them all in any combination.

Polls will close Sunday at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time — Monday at 2:59 a.m. locally.

Visser’s entire performance can be found on his youtube page.

Winners will be notified by email Tuesday.
