Many to remain in dark through Christmas day

Hundreds of hydro crews have spread out across southern Ontario trying to restore power to those affected by the weekend ice storm. Although progress is being made, many will remain in the dark through Christmas day.

At this hour, Toronto Hydro reports that 90,000 customers are still without electricity, down from the 300,000 during the height of the storm. Hydro One says some customers will be without power at least overnight. Right now, 39,000 of their customers remain in the dark.

In Hamilton, only pockets remain without power, as Hydro One and Horizon Utilities crews continue their work at restoring power.
