Man tasered at Pearson Airport

(Video added) Peel Police used a taser on a 23-year-old man at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport today.

Police say the man refused to be searched in a security screening area and was denied access to the secure area. He allegedly became aggressive. Three police officers were injured during a confrontation with the man.

Two of the officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries, including one who suffered facial injuries. All are expected to recover.

The man was also taken to hospital.

The west security checkpoint at Terminal 1 is closed down for an investigation but the closure is having little impact on travelers.
