Hamilton Police received a call early Monday morning that a vehicle had crashed at Upper Ottawa and Redbury streets involving a stolen Honda Civic.

Officers say the collision happened just after 2 a.m. where one man was ejected from the crashed vehicle and was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the man to be in his late teens, or early 20s and has not been identified yet.

The car remains in the middle of the road as the investigation continues.

Detectives are looking for three other men who were suspected to be in the vehicle, who fled the scene of the crash on foot headed westbound.

They say the suspects were last seen wearing baseball caps and face-masks.

A canine track was conducted earlier in the morning, but had lost the suspects.

Upper Ottawa Street is closed between Redbury Street and the city yards just south of the LINC overpass.

Officers will be keeping portions of the road closed until the afternoon as they investigate the crash.

For the time being, drivers headed southbound on Upper Ottawa Street towards Stone Church are asked to do a U-turn in the city yards, while the road closure remains in place.
