Man charged after crossing guard killed on Hamilton Mountain in November

Hamilton police have charged a man in the death of a crossing guard who was struck by a dump truck at a busy Hamilton Mountain intersection late last year.

Officers say at around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, 52-year-old City of Hamilton crossing guard, Keith Brewster, was killed after being struck by a dump truck at the intersection of Upper Wentworth Street and Mohawk Road.

As a result of the investigation, detectives have charged a 61-year-old Hamilton man with careless driving causing death. He is set to appear in court in May.
