Man arrested in knife-point robbery in Hamilton

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Hamilton.

Police say a man entered a business in the city’s west end around 8:15 p.m. on Aug. 20.

The thief approached the counter and made a demand for money. He then pulled out a knife and demanded money once again.

He was last seen running on foot towards the Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail.

On Aug. 25, Hamilton police released an image of a suspect they believed was responsible for the robbery.

After receiving tips from the public, officers arrested Philip Bougie, of Hamilton, on Tuesday.

Police allege Bougie was responsible for the west end robbery as well as two other commercial robberies and a break and enter at a business.

He is facing two counts of robbery, three counts of disguise with intent, and one count each of break and enter and possession under $5,000.
