Local artists collab with RBG to raise awareness on environmental challenges with Hamilton’s watersheds

Starting today a public art project called Urban Moorings Two can be viewed at Cootes Paradise in Hamilton. The project was put together by the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) and five Hamilton artists, to bring awareness to the environmental challenges within the city’s urban watersheds that flow to the Cootes Paradise marsh.
The project comes after the recent discovery where 24 billion litres of sewage and stormwater was spilled into Chedoke Creek over four years. According to the RBG, the city of Hamilton is expected to start the dredging process in about two weeks.
All the sculptures can be viewed for free at Cootes Paradise at any time throughout the day until November 1st.
