Eight generation farming operation Lindley’s Farm & Market in Ancaster is winding down, after closing its doors for the last time Sunday.
The family that owns Lindley’s Farm and Market on Fiddler’s Green Road announced their retirement on social media Monday.
The market was built in 1980, revolving around the farm that has been in the family for nearly 180 years.
After closing quietly last weekend, the Lindley family said in their social media post that they’ll continue with their pick-your-own strawberries event next year, but the market is now closed permanently and their farmland will be rented out.
“The Lindley family is forever thankful to all our staff, customers and friends over the countless years of business, of being able to provide from the land,” reads the social media post.
