An Ancaster man accused in the drowning of a four-year-old boy off the Caribbean island of St. Lucia hopes to find out today if he’ll be cleared of charges.
Sahab Jamshidi is charged with causing death by gross negligence or recklessness in the drowning of Terrel Joshua Elibox. A decision was put off yesterday.
Jamshidi’s supporters maintain he was trying to help the child after seeing him struggle in the water in February.
Police say investigators were told Terrel was given a ride by a kite surfer, fell into the water, and drowned.
If the charge is thrown out, Jamshidi hopes to come home to the Hamilton area this weekend.
