Intensifying Israel-Hamas conflict raises concerns as death toll soars

Major escalations in the war in Israel Monday, as the Israeli prime minister is promising his nation’s retaliation against Hamas has just begun.
While the armed wing of Hamas is promising to begin executing Israeli civilians held captive, if Israel fails to provide notice of further strikes in residential areas.
These new developments came as a Canadian killed in the initial Hamas attack on Saturday has been identified.
The death toll has climbed to more than 900 in Israel and almost 700 in Gaza.

United States President Joe Biden says at least 11 Americans have been killed in the bloodshed.
The European Commission has reversed an earlier announcement that the bloc would suspend aid for Palestinian authorities, saying it will review such assistance in the wake of the Hamas attacks.
