History was made at Gulliver’s Lake as a Burlington man completed the first ever treeathlon in Canada

Brandon Rynka completed the triathlon in 5 hours. He carried around a log during a 40-kilometer bike ride, a mile swim, and a 10-kilometer run.
A group of supporters were running around the lake with Brandon cheering him on. The adventure athlete says it’s been a 12-week process to train with this 80 pound, seven-foot tree named “Groot”.
Brandon collected donations from young fans as he completed his laps around Gulliver’s lake. All of the money raised in this event will be donated to Burlington-Green in support of tree preservation.
