A review board is deciding today if a Hamilton man who took a child from a school last October is a threat to the public.

Dakota Hart has been in a maximum security psychiatric ward since March when a judge found him not criminally responsible for taking a boy from the playground of Earl Kitchener Elementary School.

A psychiatrist testified that hart suffered from an extreme state of psychosis, and was likely unaware he was abducting a child.

Today’s board hearing will decide if Hart should be held in a secure facility, have limited freedom, or be released.
