The City of Hamilton is expanding its COVID-19 vaccination program to include all Indigenous adults.

The city had previously been offering the vaccine to Indigenous adults 55 and older.

Vaccines will be administered by appointment only, walk-ins are not permitted.

Indigenous adults can book an appointment by calling the Public Health Services COVID-19 hotline at 905-974-9848 and pressing option 7.

“Due to potential call volumes expected at the call centre, we ask that those who are calling for an appointment are patient and call back if the lines are busy,” said the city in a news release.

We are expecting to get details soon about a pop-up vaccination clinic for Indigenous residents.

On Thursday, the city reported 60 COVID-19 cases, with 586 active cases. There are 111 people hospitalized with the virus in the city.
