COVID-19 outbreak declared at dialysis unit of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton site

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the dialysis unit of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Charlton campus.

Three patients have tested positive for the virus. They are now in isolation.

St. Joe’s says contact tracing is taking place and all patients and staff within the Charlton hemodialysis units are being tested for COVID-19.

Hamilton Public Health Services is reporting about two dozen COVID-19 outbreaks, including five outbreaks in hospital settings.

An outbreak declared at Juravinski Hospital’s F3 unit is now at 40 cases, including 29 patients.
