Hamilton police seek to identify three suspects of two distraction thefts

Police are asking for public help to identify three suspects involved with two distraction-style thefts, which happened last May, and in April.

Officers say on May 17, 2024, a woman was followed by the suspects as she went from the Sobeys supermarket at 1770 Stone Church Rd. East., to her home in Stoney Creek.

They say the suspects had distracted her and stole her purse.

Investigators say on April 29, 2025, a different woman was followed from the TD Canada Trust bank at 991 King St. West.

Police say the same suspects had distracted her and stole cash from her vehicle.

Detectives are looking for two women and one man involved with the distraction-style thefts.

Officers are looking for a woman in her 20s to 30s, with a light complexion, who was last seen with tied back brown hair, wearing a dark top with a white-collared shirt underneath.

They are also looking for a woman in her 40s to 50s, with a medium-to-light complexion, who was last seen with brown or auburn hair in a ponytail, often seen wearing large sunglasses and a dark jacket.

Investigators are looking for a man in his 40s to 50, who has a medium-to-light complexion, who was last seen with balding or closely shaved hair, hidden under a dark baseball cap and a grey shirt.
