Hamilton police seek suspects in jewelry distraction thefts

Hamilton police need help identifying suspects in a series of distraction thefts that involve jewelry.
Police say there have been 14 cases since November 2024 in which suspects speak to potential victims, before getting close enough to steal their jewelry while pretending to sell or give them other pieces of jewelry.
Most of the reported thefts happened on the Hamilton Mountain and in Stoney Creek.
Officers say the suspects are usually driving vehicles missing licence plates.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
