Hamilton police search for muggers

A 27 year old man says he was mugged overnight near Catherine and Jackson Street in Hamilton.

He says two men approached him and asked for the time, and when he looked at his cell phone to check, he was punched and kicked several times.

Police say the men stole his phone and backpack, before fleeing in a silver car.

It was last seen driving east on Jackson Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The first man is described as aboriginal, 6′ 2″, with a medium build, black shoulder length hair, a mustache and goatee.

He was wearing a brown jacket.

Suspect two is said to be white and in his mid 40s.

He’s about 5′ 7″, with a medium build, a bald head, and a long, white goatee.

He was last seen wearing a jean jacket, jeans, and black cowboy boots.
