Hamilton police lay careless driving charges after car crash causes watermain break

Hamilton police say they have charged a 19-year-old man with careless driving after a car crash on Upper Sherman Avenue caused a watermain break.
A spokesperson for police says a driver hit a fire hydrant on Upper Sherman Avenue around 10 p.m. Monday night, causing a water spew.
Officials say the driver had minor injuries and was assessed at a hospital.
Police closed the street between Burkholder Drive to Cameo Avenue for the cleanup, which lasted throughout the night.
