Police are looking for a woman after a theft took place from a senior’s apartment in Hamilton on Tuesday.

Officers say an elderly woman answered the door at her apartment building in the Queenston Rd. and Nash Rd. N area to a woman she didn’t know who claimed to be a PSW.

Once she was inside the apartment, she used the washroom, spoke with the senior, and left without taking any of her belongings.

Police say the same woman went to another unit in the apartment building and claimed to be a PSW again.

While in the second apartment, reports say the woman took credit cards and jewelry that belonged to the senior resident.

The woman was last seen fleeing from the apartment building.

No one was injured in either incident.

The woman is described as 45-50 years of age and about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium-heavy build.

At the time of the incidents, she was wearing a white name tag that said “Nicole” on it.

Hamilton Police are reminding the public not to answer their doors to strangers and exercise extra caution when dealing with suspicious people.

Police are also asking anyone with information to contact (905) 540-5300.
