Hamilton police charge Waterloo officer for 2 counts of assault

A Waterloo Regional Police officer has been charged with assault for a second time for incidents that happened in Hamilton.
A four-year member of Waterloo police has been charged by Hamilton police services in connection to an an off-duty incident.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of assault and two counts of failure to comply with undertaking, for unspecified incidents that happened between May 27, 2024, and Jan. 1, 2025.
The officer is scheduled to appear in a Hamilton courthouse on Feb. 7, 2025.
They have also been suspended without pay.
The Waterloo officer was previously charged on June 17, 2024, with two separate counts of assault in connection to an incident that happened in Toronto on June 1, 2024.
They were scheduled to appear in a Toronto courthouse Wednesday.
