Hamilton police ask for help in search of missing seven-year-old boy

Hamilton police ask for the public’s help in finding a missing boy last seen on Wednesday.

Amin Muktar, seven, was last spotted in the area of 511 Cannon Street East at 9:30 p.m.

Muktar is described as a black, light-skinned boy, around 3’9”, with short, curly, black hair. He has brown eyes and a gap in his front teeth.

Police say he was possibly wearing a light grey or blue t-shirt, black shorts with black Nike running shoes and was last seen with a blue/green bicycle.

“Given his age and the fact that he’s been missing now overnight is quite concerning. Beyond that, there is no evidence to suggest any foul play at this point but if we do cross that bridge we’ll tell the public,” Const. Trevor McKenna says.

Hamilton’s Powell Park is a location frequently visited by Muktar.

Police are asking residents and businesses to keep an eye out for him.
