Hamilton Paramedics hold 20th Annual Toy Drive
When they’re not out saving lives, the Hamilton Paramedic Service is helping the community in other ways. Every year, they fill ambulances with toys for those in need.
This marks the 20th year Hamilton Paramedics are holding their toy drive.
Santo Pasqua, Deputy Chief of the Hamilton Paramedic Service, said, “We picked up a big load of toy donations from Amazon, and we delivered them here today to CityKidz to help less fortunate children in our community have a brighter Christmas.”
CityKidz is an organization that offers support and programs for kids in need. They’ve benefited from the toy drive for 20 years.
Jessica Cowan, Director of Development for City Kidz, said, “These toys go out to CityKidz children and their families. Any child registered in our program will receive a gift, as well as any younger siblings in their home. They’re all wrapped by volunteers and then delivered directly to their homes before the holidays.”
It’s all hands on deck to address a need Hamilton Paramedics say is greater this year.
“There are tough times, things are more expensive—food is more expensive. CityKidz has a lot of needs in the community. We need people to come out and donate an unwrapped new toy or even a cash donation,” Pasqua said.
And you can do that December 7th, at the Walmart at 510 Centennial Parkway North from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
