Hamilton mayor talks city flag policy, vaccine policy, vaccine clinics

This morning we welcomed Hamilton mayor Fred Eisenberger to talk about what is happening in the city.
The federal government announced it’s decision to raise the flags so they could be lowered again today to mark Indigenous Veterans Day today, then raised and lowered again on Thursday for Remembrance Day. So we asked Mayor Eisenberger what the city’s plan is.
“We will be raising the flags tomorrow to full mast, and then on Remembrance Day to half mast, and then Friday it will be going to full mast again and remain there until some other issue needs to be identified or respected.”
On the issue of disruptions due to workers not getting the COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Eisenberger said that HSR services were the predominant area that was disrupted. But well over 90% of staff is vaccination, which is good news. The delays are updated on HSR Now or any of the social media platforms, so you know if your bus route will be disrupted and can plan accordingly.
As for another permanent vaccine clinic, there is talks about one being opened in the lower east end. It is supposed to open in the next few weeks, and will be announced when all the plans are finalized. For now, the only permanent one in the city is at CF Lime Ridge and should be there for the next six months.
