Hamilton man charged in downtown drug trafficking investigation

Police have charged a man suspected of drug trafficking activity in downtown Hamilton.

On Wednesday, officers saw a man allegedly selling drugs from a parked vehicle in the area of MacNab Street South and Jackson Street.

Officers approached the vehicle and arrested the man. They also located a quantity of dilaudid in his possession.

In a further search of the vehicle, investigators recovered several weapons and drug-related items, including a 12-gauge shotgun with a modified stock, shotgun ammunition, a spring-loaded extendable baton and throwing knives.

A 44-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with numerous drug and weapon-related offences such as possession of a firearm and possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking.
