Ontario has decided where each public health unit will be placed under the province’s new colour-coded system, aimed at providing a regional approach to COVID-19.
As expected, Hamilton, Halton and Brant County have been placed under the yellow “protect” level.
Niagara and Haldimand Norfolk were initially proposed to be classified in the green “prevent” level but they have been placed in yellow.
The yellow restrictions mostly mirror what’s been happening in Stage 3.

Peel Region has been put into the red “control” level, with case numbers there “going through the roof,” according to Premier Doug Ford.
This level actually has fewer restrictions than currently in place under the modified Stage 2, including allowing indoor dining and reopening gyms and fitness studios.
Meanwhile, Toronto will remain under the modified Stage 2 for at least another week.
