Halton police seek suspicious man who allegedly approached kids in Burlington

Halton police are asking residents to help identify a suspicious man, who allegedly approached a group of children in Burlington Tuesday.

Officers say at around 3:30 p.m. a small group of students were walking home from school in the area of Spruce Avenue and Meadowhill Road, when a man allegedly approached them and offered them a ride home.

Investigators say the kids did not stop or speak to the man, who subsequently left the area on foot.

None of the children were reported injured and the man did not make any physical contact with them.

Detectives are looking for a 65-year-old man between five-foot-five and five-foot-eight tall.

They describe the suspect as a person with a hunched posture, heavy build and a birthmark on the right side of his face.

He was seen wearing a blue baseball cap, blue shirt and grey shorts.

Anyone with information or CCTV video of the area between 3 and 4 p.m. on June 16, are asked to contact police at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
