Halton Regional Police are looking for five people following a smash-and-grab at a jewelry store at Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington Sunday.

Just before 3 p.m., four people had entered Michael Hill Jewellers in the mall and used hammers to break into several display cases.

The suspects allegedly took multiple pieces of jewelry and escaped in a waiting newer model dark-grey Honda Civic, driven by a fifth suspect.

Police released a photo of the suspect vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

Initial reports of gunfire at the mall were determined to actually be the sounds of hammers hitting glass display cases.
