Police investigating smash and grab at Burlington mall

Halton police are investigating a case of daylight robbery at a jewellery store in Burlington.

Authorities say the incident occurred at the Birks Jewellery Store in the Mapleview Shopping Centre shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.

Four masked men entered the store, armed with hammers.

They then smashed several display cases and took the jewellery from inside before fleeing the scene.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police have not made any arrests and are on the hunt for the four men responsible.

The four suspects are all described as black men who were wearing balaclavas, gloves and dark clothing.
