Halton police charge Maplehurst correctional officer after contraband investigation

Halton police have charged a correctional officer at Maplehurst Correctional Complex following a month-long contraband investigation.

In early February, Halton authorities launched an investigation into a correctional officer who allegedly transported contraband items into Maplehurst – located in Milton.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Adrian Deonarine of Mississauga was charged on March 19 with one count of breach of trust by a public officer.
