Halton police charge duo after seizing 2 handguns, cocaine

Two people are facing multiple charges after Halton police seized two handguns and cocaine, among other items associated with crime.

Investigators say they stopped and arrested 31-year-old Julian Welsh of Mississauga in his vehicle on Monday.

Officers then carried out search warrants on his vehicle, two houses and a storage locker associated with Welsh.

Police seized two restricted handguns, four handgun magazines, brass knuckles and cocaine, among other things.

Welsh is facing 10 separate charges, including two counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm and trafficking a controlled substance-cocaine.

Investigators also arrested Natasha Furtado, 31, of Toronto. She has been charged with six separate offences, including two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
