Halton police charge 2 men in January armed home invasion, robbery in Milton

Halton police have arrested two men who now face multiple charges following a mid-January armed home invasion and robbery in Milton.
The break-in happened in the early hours of Jan. 12 at a residence in the area of Walnut Landing and Proud Drive.
Three people entered the home and confronted a male inside — two of the intruders were armed with handguns and a third person had a hammer. A woman in the home was able to hide during the incident.
The suspects stole designer clothing, jewelry, bank cards and the keys to a Dodge Durango and then fled the scene in a Honda Civic hatchback driven by a fourth person.
The people inside the residence were not physically injured.

Later that week on Jan. 18 two of the suspects returned to the home just before 6 a.m. and stole the Dodge Durango.
A Halton police robbery unit took over the investigation and on Jan. 29 executed search warrants at residences in Toronto and Milton and found some of the stolen items.
On the same day police arrested and charged Alex Ghakhar, 27, of Toronto and Ali Zaman, 27, of Milton with break-and-enter and robbery using a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle, amongst other charges.
A follow-up investigation recovered the stolen Durango.
The police are continuing to search for and identify the outstanding suspects connected to the investigation.
