Haldimand OPP search for masked arson suspect after Dunnville home targeted

Ontario Provincial Police are appealing for public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an ongoing arson investigation in Dunnville.

On Dec. 16 around 6:10 p.m., Haldimand County police and fire services responded to a reported fire at a home on Edgewater Place.

Investigators say an unidentified individual described as being tall, wearing a hoodie, balaclava, and gloves entered an unoccupied home and allegedly sprayed an accelerant inside of the home.

The suspect then exited the home, threw a lit object into the home and fled the scene on foot through the back of the property.

The fire was quickly put out but the home sustained fire damage. No injuries were reported.
