Grandad’s Donuts temporarily closed on Monday

After a record-breaking weekend, Grandad’s Donuts in Hamilton says a fryer breakdown Sunday night has forced it to close temporarily on Monday.

The iconic, family-run bakery known for their classic, old-fashioned, homemade doughnuts is located at 574 James St. North.

Staff at Grandad’s Donuts say the equipment is currently being repaired and they’re hopeful to re-open on Tuesday.

“While this definitely isn’t the post we wanted to make, we’re grateful it happened after National Donut Day and after such an incredible weekend. The support you showed us was absolutely amazing and we can’t thank you enough,” the business says in a Facebook post.

Staff apologizes for the inconvenience and reassures that customers will be updated as soon as they learn more.
