GO train service from St. Catharines and Niagara Falls resumes Thursday morning after a freight train derailment over a week ago.
Metrolinx said there may still be some delays with trains arriving around five to 10 minutes later than scheduled.
The first train service was suspended between Confederation and Niagara Falls GO stations on March 30, after 14 CN Railway cars, including four tank cars, derailed in St. Catharines east of Glendale Avenue near Keele Street.
At the time of the incident, CN said polyethylene spilled from one of the railcars, but there were no reports of fires and there was no threat to public safety.

No one was reported to have been hurt in the derailment, there were no reports of fires and no threats to public safety.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada told CHCH News that it was, “still gathering information and assessing the circumstances to determine whether a full investigation will be launched. It is too early to determine what was the cause of the derailment.”
Commuters had the option to take the route 12 GO buses that were running between Niagara Falls and Burlington GO stations since then, but space was limited.
Shipping along the Welland Canal also resumed Tuesday following the completion of repairs by CN.
The St. Lawrence Seaways said Locks 4, 5, and 6 were temporarily out of service last week.
