The Halton Regional Police Service has ended a four month investigation into a series of on-line credit card frauds that have occurred across the GTA.

Police say that 24 year old, Petar Gyoshev of Mississauga, placed several orders on-line with Best Buy using stolen credit card data and then travelled the GTA to intercept the delivery of the orders from the Canada Post delivery service.

Gyoshev posed as a Canada Post employee to retrieve the package from a confused victim who had no idea that they had even placed the order that had just been delivered to their house.

Two recent victims took pictures and video of the suspect who had shown up at their front door and investigators were able to link 14 incidents across the GTA from Burlington to Whitby and north to Minden.

A total of 54 criminal charges have been laid, Gyoshev has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Milton Provincial Court.

Police do not believe that the accused was acting alone and suspect that his actions are part of a more organized criminal group and will be continuing their investigation.

The total loss involved is estimated to be in the area of $40,000 and there could be more victims.

Police have charged Gyoshev with fraud under $5000, unauthorized use of credit card data, theft of mail and posession of a counterfeit mark.

If anyone has any other information they can contact Halton Police or Crime Stoppers.
