Former Hamilton mayor suggests Ward 8 candidates connect directly with residents on issues

CHCH News anchor Matt Ingram spoke with former Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina as 26 candidates vie for the open Hamilton Ward 8 city councillor seat.

The local politician, who was also a former City Councillor and Member of Parliament, said he was very interested in how diverse the people running for the position were, and how well it reflected the political landscape globally.

Bratina mentioned the potential difficulties the candidates could face during their campaigns, including overcoming low voter turnout rates.

Ingram asked what each candidate can do to increase local name recognition, and how to figure out what are the primary issues for Ward 8 residents.
