A former CHCH employee celebrated his retirement in style in the skies, getting to fly over the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton in a second World War Lancaster.

Wayne Rabishaw joined CHCH in 1982 after studying Television Broadcasting at Mohawk College. He worked many roles, including Director of Operations and retired in May of last year as Manager of Special Projects.

Rabishaw said he was “on pins and needles” for the chance of a lifetime to fly in the British heavy bomber.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is the only place in the world where members of the public can fly in a Lancaster. It’s sold out for this year but seats for the 2026 season are expected to go on sale in November.
