The Ford government has released invoices related to the controversial purchase and resale of a private plane, revealing the province lost nearly $200,000 in expenses.

A Ministry of Natural Resources briefing note shows $190,865 in costs were incurred, not including taxes.

While Premier Doug Ford previously told reporters the Challenger 650 was sold back to Bombardier at the same price the government originally paid, these documents provide the first disclosure of the additional transaction costs.

Records confirm the government took possession of the aircraft on April 15 and returned it to Bombardier on April 27.

Documentation of the plane’s lifetime trip and landing counts shows those figures remained unchanged during that window, confirming the jet was never flown while in the province’s possession.

The briefing note also clarified that no retrofit work was performed and no related costs were billed.

At the time of the initial deal, the government justified the purchase as a necessity for the premier’s travel.
