Fire devours Flamborough farmhouse

(Updated) All lanes of Highway 5 in Flamborough are now open after a fire had closed a stretch from Brock to Middletown Rds.

The call came in just before three this morning. When firefighters arrived, the large farmhouse was fully engulfed in flames and the roof had already collapsed. No one was inside at the time.

Hamilton Fire officials told CHCH News crews had to rely on tankers to shuttle water to the rural blaze.

Neighbours say nobody has lived in the home for years. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
