Electrical fire causes $400K in damages to Hamilton home
A suspected electrical fire has caused an estimated $400,000 in damages to a Hamilton mountain residence.
No one was injured, but the fire has visibly damaged the building and left scorch marks on its exterior.
Emergency personnel were called out to 8381 Twenty Road late Tuesday night for a reported structure fire.
The first thing authorities witnessed when they arrived was “heavy black smoke” bellowing out from the front of the home. First responders then made sure everyone living in the house was safely out.
Officials say they managed to knock the fire down, which they believe originated in one of the bedrooms.
Authorities suspect the cause of the fire was electrical in nature, and are estimating it to have caused nearly $400,000 in damages.
