Police witness stabbing in St. Catharines, make multiple arrests, seize fentanyl
An investigation, kicked off by a mid-day stabbing, has lead Niagara police to make four arrests in St. Catharines.
Authorities say that while on patrol near Court Street and North Street on Tuesday, they witnessed three people get into a verbal argument with an 18-year-old.
The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation before one of the three assailants stabbed the 18-year-old.
Police say they immediately intervened, placed the three male suspects under arrest and transported the stabbing victim to hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
That same day, police carried out a search warrant at a residence near Catharine Street and Francis Street in connection to the earlier assault.
Officers seized 2 oz of suspected Fentanyl during the raid, which has an approximate $12,000 street value.
Following the search, police arrested 49-year-old Heather Twinn of St. Catharines, who was charged with possession with an intent to traffic.

Later on, 23-year-old Ju-Ron S. Fertilien of St. Catharines was charged with multiple counts of assault and possession.
Police also charged two youths, aged 16 and 17, with trafficking and assault.
All three men were held in police custody and are awaiting to attend a video bail hearing at a courthouse in St. Catharines on Wednesday.
Police say Twinn was released on a Form 10-undertaking and has a future court date.
