Dog owner arrested for uttering threats in Niagara Falls motel

Police have arrested a man for uttering threats after he was told his dog was not welcome at a motel in Niagara Falls.
Niagara police attended a motel on Lundy’s Lane near Drummond Rd. shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers say the man became upset after he was told his Caine Corso was not welcome. He forced the dog to lunge at the victim, while verbally threatening to have the dog attack and cause serious injury.
Investigators say the suspect later left the property with the dog in a black/grey Mazda prior to police arrival.

Just before 1 a.m. on Friday, patrol officers found the vehicle parked in the area of Victoria Ave. and Walnut St. where the suspect and dog were asleep inside.
A search of the man after his arrest led to officers finding methamphetamine, fentanyl, a loaded .45 revolver handgun and $115.
Kyle Thomas Adams, 23, of Welland has been arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats
- Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Opioid / Fentanyl
- Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possess Proceeds / Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
- Possess a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device
- Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Adam was held in custody to attend a virtual bail hearing at a Hamilton courthouse on Friday.
In a tweet, officers say an acquaintance of the arrested man came to the scene and took possession of the dog.
