Rebuild Hamilton launches public advocacy campaign

An organization dedicated to municipal infrastructure repair and transparent local governance launched a public advocacy campaign in front of Hamilton City Hall today.

The resident-led Rebuild Hamilton addressed what they say is the City’s accumulated $5.2 billion infrastructure deficit.

“Representatives will outline the campaign’s core principles, present policy solutions for closing the funding shortfall, and call on municipal leaders to prioritize repairing existing city assets,” reads a statement from the group.

Topics addressed were ‘fixing what we own first,’ ‘addressing the hidden debt,’ ‘local job creation’ and ‘fiscal transparency.’

Rebuild Hamilton says they focus on research, transparent governance and sustainable municipal infrastructure investments “that protect quality of life and support economic development.”
