The Richmond Hill retailer Canada Computers says personal information belonging to some of its customers was compromised during a recent data breach.

In a press release shared at around 6:30 p.m. Friday, the company says customers who entered personal information and checked out as “guests” between Dec. 29, 2025 and Jan. 22, 2026 were impacted.

Some of the information that may have been stolen include credit card details and personal customer information.

They say customers who logged in and checked out using their Canada Computers member account were not affected. They also say customers whom bought items in person were also not affected.

The company says they became aware of the breach on Jan. 22, and reached out to affected customers on Jan. 25, and immediately notified law enforcement and regulatory authorities.

Canada Computers says it offered their affected customers complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services.

The statement does not say how many customers were affected by the data breach, or when the breach had occurred.

They say the investigation remains ongoing.
