Crime Stoppers of Hamilton, in collaboration with Hamilton police, launched an awareness campaign Tuesday to address the increasing incidence of auto theft within the community.

The campaign started with an event at Lime Ridge Mall and “aims to raise awareness about safety, prevention, and the significant role the community can play in preventing auto theft.”

The initiative encourages members of the Hamilton community to participate in addressing the rise in auto-theft crimes through the message: “If you see something, say something,” stressing the importance of reporting suspicious activity and unsafe situations and highlighting that tips can be provided anonymously.

So far in 2025 Crime Stoppers has received 1,222 tips and laid 103 charges and made 16 arrest based on tips and leads. The program also recovered nearly $140,000 in stolen property and over $200,000 in seized drugs since January.

Tips on auto-theft crimes can be made by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting info online at Crime Stoppers of Hamilton.
